After securing victories in their last two matches, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have managed to keep its Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 playoff aspirations alive.

RCB will look to maintain their winning streak and secure a favourable outcome against Gujarat Titans (GT) at their home ground, the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday.

The last time Shubman Gill played an IPL match in Bengaluru, he delivered a stunning century that knocked RCB out of the tournament in 2023. The Titans will now look to their captain for a similar standout performance to keep their IPL 2024 campaign alive.

However, in their previous encounter earlier this season, RCB's Will Jacks showcased a batting masterclass. His thunderous century propelled his team to a comfortable victory at GT's home ground in Ahmedabad during the afternoon fixture.

RCB captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and elected to field first in the afternoon match. His team made a strong start with the ball, as Mohammed Siraj and Swapnil Singh picked up early wickets for Bengaluru. Gujarat struggled during the powerplay, but Sai Sudharsan once again steadied their innings with a composed knock.

Shahrukh Khan, promoted up the order, also contributed well in the middle overs, forming an 86-run partnership with Sudharsan before losing his wicket. However, Sudharsan remained unbeaten on 86 runs, and with support from David Miller, Gujarat posted a formidable total of 200 runs.

Chasing a daunting total, RCB's du Plessis provided a fiery start, scoring 24 runs off just 12 balls before being dismissed by R Sai Kishore. Virat Kohli then continued the momentum set by du Plessis, guiding RCB to 63 runs in the first six overs. Although Will Jacks initially struggled for timing, Kohli ensured a steady scoring rate.

By the halfway mark, RCB had reached 98/1, with Jacks gradually finding his rhythm. Later, Jacks unleashed an onslaught against the experienced duo of Mohit Sharma and Rashid Khan, smashing 10 sixes. Jacks and Kohli remained unbeaten on 100 and 70 respectively, guiding RCB to victory with 24 balls to spare.
