Virat Kohli crosses 1000 runs in a calendar year after 2019

Virat Kohli after a couple of years bad run-form has finally announced his arrival onto the main scene. He has been racking up runs and pulling out match-winning knocks. The latest being against Pakistan where he scored an unbeaten 82 off of 53 deliveries. 


The milestone

Kohli, after two years has once again crossed 1000+ runs in a calendar year. He collected the milestone while India's Super 12 stage match against Netherlands in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 at Sydney Cricket Ground. In the match the batter once again scored an unbeaten knock of 62 runs off of 44 deliveries. 

The 33-year old has scored a total of 1024 runs in 28 match and 31 innings across the year so far. In 2020, he scored 842 runs across 22 matches and 24 innings including seven half-centuries and the highest score of 89. 

In 2021, he scored 964 runs in 24 matches across 30 innings, including 10 half centuries and a high score of 80*. 


India's hero is back

In the Asia Cup earlier this year, Kohli made a blazing comeback and shows no signs of slowing down. In the ongoing World Cup, India is all set to face South Africa in its next fixture on the 30th of October at 4:30 PM. Two veteran teams will face off and fans and peers alike will be on their toes to watch Virat enter the crease once again.
