After an impressive few stints in county cricket Harry Finch has signed with Kent on a permanent deal. The batter featured for the county in the last two seasons on a short-term contract basis. The brand new deal is two-year long.

The former Sussex batter first featured for Kent as a replacement during a COVID-19 outbreak in the squad. He played a phenomenal match winning hundred in the second innings of his debut match.

He also scored a brilliant 77 in the T20 Blast group-stage. Returning to the Royal London Cup a year later he contributed in every department of the game and played a key role in the team that later went on to win the competition.

What Finch said

"I'm delighted to have signed for Kent, I've absolutely loved playing here over the last couple of seasons, to win a trophy and now sign permanently has topped off a special couple of months."

"It's personally been a challenging couple of years for me trying to get back in the game, so for Kent to give me this opportunity, I feel very grateful and honoured. I can't wait to get started and I'm looking forward to helping the club win matches and more trophies."

Finch's future in the team

With the departure of Ollie Robinson (wicketkeeper-batter) and Darren Stevens, two batting spots have opened up in the team. Finch has captained and featured as a wicketkeeper for the team too and has the perfect opportunity to cement his place in the team.
