India will begin their T20 World Cup 2022 campaign against Pakistan on Sunday and they will be baking on the in-form batter Suryakumar Yadav to guide them to glory in the marquee event in Australia.

The explosive batter has been in imperious form over the past few months and he has firmly established himself as one of the best players in the shortest format of the game.

Speaking on the potential impact he could make in the World Cup, former Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq said that Suryakumar will add more quality to India's batting order.

The ability to take on bowlers from the get-go will make Suryakumar a valuable asset for Team India as they look to make amends after an underwhelming Asia Cup 2022 campaign.

India have been labelled as one of the favourites heading into the tournament and it remains to be seen whether the Men in Blue can go all the way.

The impressive form of players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav will certainly leave India in a buoyant mood ahead of their tournament opener against their arch-rivals Pakistan.

Misbah-ul-Haq said, as quoted by Hindustan Times

"After Suryakumar Yadav's inclusion, India's batting strength has increased. The range he has and the kind of shots he plays against any bowler - he had all types of shots - and because of this, the role of the top order has changed as well. Then there is Hardik Pandya and Dinesh Karthik who play the finisher's role."
