T20 World Cup 2022: Harbhajan Singh suggests India to replace KL Rahul with Rishabh Pant

A lot of debate has been thrown around regarding the Indian batting lineup. Indian openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul haven't been able to score any worthwhile runs for a good while now, and the inconsistency has now leaked into the T20 World Cup 2022. 

But special attention has been laid on Rahul, many experts have opined that Rahul be sat on the bench if he fails to perform in the next few matches. Even though he is a brilliant player, critics believe that Rishabh Pant should come in the squad for the moment. 

Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has opined on the matter. 

Harbhajan Singh suggests a Pant in the lineup 

“They may have to take some tough calls, the team has to think about it going forward. KL Rahul is a great player, we all know that, he is a match-winner. But if he is struggling with his form like this, I think you should bring in Rishabh Pant.”

“Karthik looks injured, I don’t know what his status is. If he is not, Rishabh Pant can open the innings with Rohit Sharma. You get a left-right combination like that. You can also bring in Deepak Hooda and he can even bowl a few overs.”

India's next venture 

India was handed an upsetting loss yesterday at the hands of South Africa. India's place in the semis now hangs in the balance. The Men in Blue need to make sure that they win the next two matches against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe to make a place for themselves in the semi-final.
