Match 25 of the ongoing Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) 2022 between the Melbourne Stars and Sydney Thunder ended in a no-result after rain interrupted play.

Put into bat by the Stars, the Thunder were off to a swift start, adding 35 runs within the first powerplay. They did lose Phoebe Litchfield to Annabel Sutherland, who made run-a-ball 19.

England's Amy Jones continued her merry ways in the middle, joined by captain Rachael Haynes. However, she perished on 38 against Sophie Day. Haynes (15*) and Anika Learoyd (4*) shared a 10-run stand before rain interrupted play with Thunder's on 79 for two after 13.5 overs.

Ahead of the toss, Thunder's dropped Tammy Beaumont and Tahlia Wilson, bringing in Learoyd, and Chloe Tryon.

With this no-result, both teams find themselves in the bottom half of the WBBL 08 points table, Thunder are placed seventh with 4 points, while Stars sit in the sixth position with as many points, only ahead in net run rate.
