History was created on April 16, when Mumbai Indians’ (MI) South African recruit Duan Jansen made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut. He, along with his older brother Marco Jansen, became the first twin brothers to feature in the IPL.

Marco, who plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), much like Duan, made his IPL debut with the Mumbai Indians in 2020. Duan will go up against Marco when MI takes on SRH this evening in Hyderabad.

Speaking to the MI website, the 22-year-old revealed that he and Macro have not played against each other, and are excited to go face-to-face.

Both Jansen brothers were unearthed when they visited the Team India nets during India's tour of South Africa in 2018.

Here's what Duan said

β€œNo, no Marcus hasn’t warned me about anything at MI. He just said I must go and enjoy it. Actually the thing is that we have never played against each other. We really want to play against each other. So I’m very excited, and hopefully we get that opportunity,"

Duan further explained that he wants to create his own identity, and showcase his own individuality than being known as Marco's brother.

On debut against KKR, Duan recorded figures of 53 for one in four overs, claiming the crucial wicket of Rinku Singh.
