England's Test team under coach Brendon McCullum and skipper Ben Stokes are currently in Pakistan for their first overseas assignment after taking on their respective roles. McCullum's aggressive approach changed England's Test cricket for good and has produced incredible results, however small the sample size may be.

The three-Test series between hosts Pakistan and visitors England gets underway from December 1 in Rawalpindi and has cricket circles buzzing. However, before their departure to Pakistan shores, coach McCullum spoke on the Vaughany and Tuffers podcast about how the Test should remain the best format.

Here's what McCullum said

"Cricket's in a really fascinating space at the moment. The opportunities are great and ultimately people feel they need to look after their families and ensure their careers are successful long term but I just want them desperate to play Test cricket. It is the best form of cricket,

"The journey it takes you on, the novel that is Test cricket is so great that if we ever lost that then to me cricket becomes just another game. Embrace T20 cricket, embrace franchise cricket, but try and do what you can to ensure that the purest form of the game survives."

The 41-year-old spoke about leaving his team aiming to leave a mark during England's historic Pakistan tour, which the Three Lions last toured in 2005.
