Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) batter Deepak Hooda achieved a milestone as he played his 100th Indian Premier League (IPL) match today. Hooda recorded the feat as the Super Giants included him in their XI for the ongoing match versus Punjab Kings (PBKS).

Although it was a momentous occasion for the 27-year-old, he failed to leave a mark, continuing his rut in IPL 2023. Batting at the number three for LSG, Hooda could only score two runs off three deliveries as Punjab Kings' Sikandar Raza trapped him in a leg before wicket.

The Rohtak-born's scores in the ongoing IPL season totals to just 37 runs and is enough to signify the extent of his struggle. LSG are not even using his off-spin.

In his IPL career, Hooda has batted in 80 innings, scoring 1,273 runs at a strike-rate of around 130. He has claimed 10 wickets as well.

Talking about Lucknow, they were given a good start by Kyle Mayers, who scored a 23-ball 29. Punjab's spinners Harpreet Brar and Raza brought their side back in the game with two consecutive wickets.

At the time of writing, LSG are at 94/2 with KL Rahul and Krunal Pandya unbeaten at 43 and 14 runs.
