Darren Sammy appointed head coach of Peshawar Zalmi for PSL 08

Pakistan Super League's Peshawar Zalmi has announced the appointment of former West Indies' World Cup-winning skipper Darren Sammy as their head coach for season 08 which is scheduled to take place in February 2023.

Previously, James Foster replaced Sammy before the start of the previous season after the latter was convinced to take the role of the mentor. Under Foster's eye, Zalmi ended their season after losing in the eliminator against Islamabad United.

Sammy, who has been an integral part of the Peshawar franchise being the head coach in 2020 and 2021, captained the team till 2019 before a mid-season change.

The all-rounder has featured in 68 T20Is for West Indies, where he was famously known for his skills as the captain.
