Former West Indies captain Kieron Pollard showered praises on his long-term Mumbai Indians' teammate and star all-rounder Hardik Pandya for his astounding comeback to the international setup.

After a disastrous show in T20 World Cup 2021, the flamboyant all-rounder bounced back stronger, leading the Gujarat Titans to the IPL title in his captaincy debut season and since then he has produced a string of impactful performances with both bat and ball.

The Baroda all-rounder also led the Indian team for the first time in the two-match T20I series against Ireland. Heading into the T20 World Cup 2022, he is going to be one of the main men for Blues.

Weighing in on the same, here's what Pollard told journalist Vimal Kumar on his YouTube Channel:

“Hardik is a work in progress. He was going through a rough time in the last couple of months. Again, we have seen the rewards of his hard work.”

“I know him for a couple of years and I understand how he thinks and operates. It's not surprising for me what he did in international cricket and for the Gujarat Titans.”

The Caribbean legend heaped praise on the star all-rounder, stating players like Hardik Pandya come once in many years. The veteran Mumbai Indians' batter further urged fans to enjoy his game and wished Hardik good luck in his future endeavours.

“All I want is the best for him on the cricket field. Let's just enjoy him. We tend to put them up on a pedestal, and the moment they don't deliver, we drag them down.”

“He's a brilliant cricketer. Cricketers like him come once in so many years. So again, I only wish him good luck.”

Team India reached Perth on October 7 and are preparing for the marquee event. Rohit Sharma & Co. will kick off their T20 World Cup 2022 campaign against the arch-rivals Pakistan on October 23 at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
