The Indian team displayed a dominant performance early in the fourth T20I against West Indies. In an exhilarating start to the match at Lauderhill, the West Indies suffered an early blow as Kyler Mayers was dispatched after a brief fiery stint.

Samson's incredible catch put an end to Mayers' blitz

Having been put into field, the Indian bowlers were tested as Mayers unleashed a six and a four in the very first over bowled by Axar Patel. The Caribbean opener's aggressive approach was clear from the onset. However, his blitz was halted by a spectacular ball from young pacer Arshdeep Singh.

Introduced into the attack in the second over by Hardik Pandya, Arshdeep momentarily stuttered, conceding a boundary to Mayers off his very first delivery. But, showing great composure, Arshdeep retaliated with a well-directed short ball.

Making the most of the surface, the delivery got an extra lift, catching Mayers off-guard. In an attempt to finesse it over the wicketkeeper, Mayers only managed a leading edge, which was spectacularly caught by Samson. Mayers departed having scored 17 from just 7 deliveries.

Following Mayers' dismissal, Arshdeep also claimed Brandon King's wicket, who made 18. West Indies, after a promising start, found themselves in troubled waters with a score of 57/4 in 7 overs. Kuldeep Yadav, joining the party, scalped two crucial wickets, denting the Caribbean innings further.

With the series poised at 2-1 in favor of West Indies, this match is of significant importance. Shai Hope, making a return in this series, is holding one end with 22 runs, while Shimron Hetmyer is yet to get off the mark.

The ongoing match promises more twists and turns, with India keen on levelling the series and West Indies aiming to clinch the series.
