Comilla Victorians opening batsman Will Jacks blazed his way to an unbeaten 108 from just 53 balls against Chattogram Challengers at the latter’s home ground. Turning up for his side in match number 29 of the ongoing BPL 2024 season, the 25-year-old blasted 10 sixes in the process, including one to bring up his century off Shohidul Islam in the final over of the Victorians innings.

Jacks’ 53-ball thunderclap at Chattogram marked his second T20 ton, as well as his career-best score in the format as he braces himself for his maiden IPL stint next month.

Will Jacks and his opening partner Litton Das shared a rapid 86-run stand inside the first eight overs of the Comilla Victorians innings after they were put into bat first. Following the dismissal of Das for a 31-ball 60, the run-scoring onus fell onto Jacks and the right-handed Englishman eventually tore through Challengers’ bowling attack with a scintillating hundred.

Jacks blasted 10 sixes in the process, including one in the final over of the innings against fast bowler Shohidul Islam to bring up his century from just 50 balls.

Will Jacks eventually finished his innings at 108* from 53 balls to take Comilla Victorians to 239-3 by the completion of their 20 overs. The total turned out to be a match-winning one for the Victorians, with Challengers falling short of their target by 73 runs in their run-chase.

Back in December 2023, Jacks was retained by the RCB franchise for the upcoming IPL 2024 season. While the cricketer underwent a silent phase with the bat for Pretoria Capitals at the recently-concluded SA20 2024 in South Africa, he justified his IPL 2024 retention with a splendid century at the BPL 2024 for Comilla Victorians.

Jacks is expected to join the RCB camp for the first time this year, after he had withdrawn himself out of the tournament back in IPL 2023 owing to an injury. The IPL 2024 season is expected to commence sometime in late-March.
