West Indies wicketkeeper-batsman, Nicholas Pooran made a scintillating comeback in the crucial fifth T20I against India in Florida, laying the foundation for a strong Windies chase. 

Pooran lit up Florida with massive sixes

After a couple of subdued performances in the series, Pooran's resurgence provided a significant boost to the team.

The southpaw was called to the crease earlier than expected, following the dismissal of opener Kyle Mayers by Arshdeep Singh in just the second over of the innings. 

Initially cautious, the southpaw soon unleashed his fury, dispatching Arshdeep with a massive six over the cow corner. This was just an appetizer to Pooran's main course that was about to unfold.

A lapse in the field gave Pooran a second life when Mukesh Kumar couldn’t grasp a chance off Hardik Pandya's delivery. 

Making the most of the reprieve, the West Indies dynamo showcased his brutal hitting skills, smashing consecutive sixes in Hardik's over. The first sailed over long-on, while the next was dispatched with disdain over midwicket.

Coming to the game, West Indies are cruising currently with a score of 109/1 after 12 overs. While Brandon King is batting on 47 off 36 balls, including four boundaries and two sixes, Pooran is going strong with a smashing 45 off 31 deliveries, including a boundary and four massive sixes.

With the game and series on the line, the onus now lies on India's bowlers to break this dangerous partnership, or the Windies duo of King and Pooran will take the game away from them.
