Dhruv Jurel came into IPL 2024 on the back of a scintillating debut series for India against England, and was expected to deliver big for RR. However, he has not got a big score so far, and against KKR too, when his team needed him the most, he departed on 2 as Narine got the better of him.

It was the fourth delivery of the 9th over and Narine bowled a nice carrom delivery that zipped off the surface and Dhruv Jurel tried to defend it. He could not connect though, and the ball hit him on the pads. Narine and Salt, the wicketkeeper appealed in unison, but the umpire did not respond positively.

Shreyas Iyer though was quick to take the DRS and the Ball Tracking showed three reds and the decision was overturned, bringing a wave of joy at Eden Gardens.

Varun Chakaravarthy then joined the act and sent back Ashwin and Hetmyer in quick succession to reduce RR to 121-6 in the massive run-chase of 224. Earlier, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson departed in the Powerplay while Riyan Parag after a bright start, departed in a bid to hit one out of the park.
