Swashbuckling Indian batter Surya Kumar Yadav knows how to score under pressure and secure wins. On Monday, the Mumbai Indians (MI) player SKY smashed his first century in the ongoing IPL 2024 season against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the iconic Wankhede Stadium.

In the 55th match, he dominated SRH bowlers, scoring his century in just 51 balls, leading MI to a seven-wicket victory.

The 33-year-old batsman, who had been sidelined due to injury and rested for the initial three matches as the NCA denied his release, returned to join the MI camp. Upon his return, he had been underperforming before this match, but with his century, he made a triumphant comeback.

In the 17th over of the match, with SRH posting a score of 173 for the home team, batting at number 4 for MI, he remained composed and smashed T Natrajan for a six to achieve his second century in the IPL and sixth in T20 cricket.

This marked his comeback in the IPL, and MI now hopes to qualify for the playoffs as he embraces Tilak Varma after securing the much-needed victory of the season.
