Veteran West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell had a dream game with the ball in Kolkata Knight Riders' IPL 2024 clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. 

Introduced late in the game, Russell emerged as KKR's game-changer with the ball, scalping the prized breakthroughs of Will Jacks, Rajat Patidar and Dinesh Karthik. 

The Caribbean great began his onslaught with Jacks' wicket, who hammered a belligerent 32-ball 55. He also got rid of Rajat Patidar, who was looking sublime in the middle. 

If that wasn't enough, the utility cricketer deceived Dinesh Karthik with a well-disguised slow bouncer when the veteran finisher looked all set to guide RCB to glory. 

The incident occurred during the 19th over of RCB's innings when Karthik was steadily taking the visitors close towards KKR's total. 

He had a disappointing start to the over, with Karthik hammering him for a six and a boundary to collect ten runs off the first five balls. However, he concluded the over on a high, dismissing the famed keeper-batter on his final delivery. 

It was a slow short ball from Russell, as Karthik miscued a hook shot only to get caught by the KKR wicket-keeper. 

Despite Karn Sharma's valiant batting effort in the final over, RCB managed 221 on the board, losing the game by a single run.
