England’s ‘BazBall’ radical Harry Brook smacked a 69-ball century against Leicestershire in the fourth match of the 2024 County Championship Division Two.

Turning up for Yorkshire at Headingley, the cricketer unfurled all kinds of audacious strokes, including an impudent scoop shortly after racing to a splendid half-century. Brook eventually walked off the field at 100* after Yorkshire skipper Shan Masood called for a surprise declaration.

Up against Leicestershire’s 354, Yorkshire opener Adam Lyth tonked an enterprising 100-ball 101 amidst constant rain interruptions at the top of the order.

Batting at number five, English international Harry Brook also shaped a regal hundred off just 69 unbeaten deliveries. The innings marked his 12th first-class century, and helped Yorkshire to draw their rain-affected County Championship Division Two 2024 bout against Leicestershire.

At one point of his innings, the right-hander unfurled an audacious scoop off Leicestershire pacer Tom Scriven to race to 64* off 45 balls.

Notably, Harry Brook opted himself out of the ongoing IPL 2024 season in India citing personal reasons. The cricketer was slated to turn up for the Delhi Capitals franchise after he was acquired by their team management back in December 2023 during the auction.

Through an emotional social media post on March 13, Brook revealed that he was skipping the IPL 2024 season because he wanted to grieve the loss of his grandmother.

The Delhi Capitals management eventually announced South African fast bowler Lizaad Williams as Brook’s replacement on April 8.
