KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer expressed disappointment after his team's defeat against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in a thrilling encounter of the ongoing IPL 2024. Despite posting a competitive total of 138, KKR couldn't defend it as CSK chased down the target with 7 wickets in hand.

Reflecting on the loss, Iyer highlighted the critical moment in the match where KKR lost consecutive wickets after a promising start in the powerplay.

Shreyas Iyer Speaks after getting defeated

"First of all, it's deafening out here, but I'll try to express how I'm feeling after the match. Personally, I feel that regarding the wicket, we fell a bit short in terms of asse2ssment despite a phenomenal start in the powerplay. However, after that, we couldn't capitalize on that start. We lost consecutive wickets, and then we weren't able to adapt to the changing conditions as quickly as possible, especially since they completely shifted after the powerplay."

He admitted that they fell short in assessing the conditions properly and failed to capitalize on the early momentum.

The inability to adapt quickly to the changing conditions, especially after the powerplay, proved costly for KKR.

CSK, led by Ruturaj, managed to clinch victory after suffering defeats in their previous matches against Delhi Capitals (DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

The win against KKR not only ended their unbeaten streak in the season but also helped CSK climb up the points table, securing the fourth position.

Meanwhile, despite the defeat, KKR maintains their strong position on the points table, currently holding the second spot.
