In a significant development, Punjab Kings have won the toss and elected to bowl first in their fourth IPL 2024 clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad. At toss, PBKS skipper Shikhar Dhawan revealed that they would bowl considering the flatness of the surface in Mullanpur. Both teams have gone with an unchanged playing XI for this clash. 

At toss, Punjab Kings' captain Shikhar Dhawan lauded his troops for their collective effort, saying, 

"We are gonna bowl first. I think the wicket is going to remain the same, and we would prefer them to set a target for us to chase. We were very fortunate to win the last game,"

"I see that all my team members are performing well, unlike some teams that depend on certain players. This is a very positive aspect for us. And it's just the start of the tournament and we won two matches, which is good."

Meanwhile, SRH skipper Pat Cummins disclosed that they would've bowled first as well. He said, 

"We would have bowled first as well. New venue. Don't know how it will pan out. I think overall, we have been pretty happy with how things have gone for us. Two games, we have won with good margins and one could have gone our way. But, everyone has been doing well,"

"Looking at our line-up, Bhuvi is a good new-ball bowler and we have got a couple of guys who have done well with the new ball. Just trying to fill in the gaps. We are going with the same team."
