Australia will look to level the series at 1-1 when they square off against England in the second T20I of the three-match series at Manuka Oval in Canberra on Wednesday, October 12.

England have already taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match series following their eight runs victory in the series opener. Putting to bat first, England whacked 208 runs for the loss of six wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. In reply, Australia fell just eight runs short of the winning target.

Heading into the second T20I, the Jos Buttler-led out will ideally look to take an unassailable lead in the series. However, it isn't going to be an easy task against Australia, who will be bolstered by the return of their key players like Glenn Maxwell, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood.

Key Players

  • David Warner: The star opener continued his good run of form and bludgeoned 73 runs off just 44 balls in the first match against England. He will be looking to keep the momentum intact.
  • Jos Buttler: The English white-ball captain made a remarkable comeback to the international arena. He smacked 68 runs off just 32 balls and provided his team with a flying start alongside Alex Hales.
  • Alex Hales: The English sustained his opening slot alongside captain Buttler and lived up to expectations once again. He clobbered 84 runs off just 51 balls in the first match against Australia.
  • Mitchell Marsh: The star all-rounder played a crucial knock of 36 runs off 26 balls in the opening match. He didn't bowl in that match since recently recovered from the injury and doesn't want it to resurface again.
  • Marcus Stoinis: The star all-rounder brushed aside his poor form and played a quickfire knock of 35 runs off 15 balls in the opening clash against England. He also picked a wicket as well.
  • Mark Wood: The English pacer bowled a game-changing spell at the death overs and helped his team defend the total successfully. He picked up three crucial wickets while conceding only 34 runs.
