India's premium leg-spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal, is currently in England and playing his maiden County Championship season. He has been a consistent member of India's white-ball squad, but Kuldeep Yadav is in the form of his life, and India could only play one of them, which excluded Yuzi from the World Cup squad.

Yuzi made an application to play for Kent for the remaining three games and his offer was accepted by the Kent Cricket. Chahal has been wearing number three on his back while playing for the Indian team, but he was seen wearing 27 in the ongoing county championship.

The numbers on players' backs always mean something to them and Yuzi has been wearing number three ever since he started playing for the Indian team. Now that he is wearing 27 in the County Championship, it has left fans confused. 


What's the reason behind Yuzvendra Chahal wearing number 27 instead of 3:


Yuzi Chahal revealed that he asked for number three only but it was not available so he decided to go with 27 as it is her wife's birthdate. It's been almost three years now since they tied the knot with each other and are always glooming in the eyes of the fans. 

Today, 27th of September marks Dhanashree's birthday and Chahal has revealed the reason behind him choosing to wear 27 on his back. In three innings, Chahal has already picked up seven wickets and proving to be a successful bowler in the red ball cricket. 

The Indian team is currently playing the ODI series against Australia and will be heading to the World Cup after that. Yuzi was also not a part of the T20 World Cup 2021 and the Asia Cup 2023.
