Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Shubman Gill hung out with English singer Ed Sheeran alongside Indian YouTuber and comedian Tanmay Bhat last month in Mumbai.

Sheeran, who visited India as part of his ‘Mathematics Tour’ earlier this year, met the two Indian personalities shortly before his presumed meeting with Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan.

The Englishman eventually shared excerpts from his day out with Shubman Gill and Tanmay Bhat the following month in April, i.e., during the fervent sphere of IPL 2024 season in India.

From discussing a wide range of topics, Gill’s past cricketing venture with KKR also became a theme of a hilarious debate when the three were enjoying a meal together.

Shubman Gill has a funny request for Ed Sheeran

English singer Ed Sheeran shared an excerpt of his day out with cricketer Shubman Gill and comedian Tanmay Bhat on April 5.

At one stage of the 17-minute-long video, Sheeran claimed that he will be attending Shahrukh Khan’s house in the city later that same evening. Shubman instantly brought up his past association with Shahrukh Khan-owned KKR franchise, where he spent his formative years in the IPL before becoming the linchpin of Gujarat Titans batting.

The dashing Titans skipper also jokingly urged Ed Sheeran to ask Shahrukh as to why his KKR franchise did not retain him for IPL 2022.

Shubman Gill made his IPL debut back in 2018 through the KKR franchise. The cricketer ended up playing 58 matches for them spanning four seasons till 2021 before he was released from the squad ahead of IPL 2022.

Thereafter, Gill found a new home at newcomers Gujarat Titans. While he played a key role in their title triumph in his maiden season, the opener won the coveted ‘Orange Cap’ the following season in IPL 2023.

As of now, he is leading the Gujarat Titans franchise this IPL 2024 season after Hardik Pandya’s exit. He recently punched out a sizzling 89* against Punjab Kings, albeit in a losing cause. Shubman Gill will now be seen leading the Gujarat Titans unit in match number 21 of the tournament against LSG on April 7.
