World Cup 2023 Prize Money Unveiled By ICC, Winner Walks Away With This Much Amount

The International Cricket Council (ICC) have unveiled their prize pool for the forthcoming Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 in India. As per the distribution system formulated by the apex body, the winner of the tournament is set to walk home with 40 percent of the total money pot.

ICC announces World Cup 2023 prize money

An overall USD 10 million reward pool is on offer for the 2023 World Cup in India. While the winner of the forthcoming cricketing carnival will walk away with a staggering USD 4 million, the runners-up will receive USD 2 million for their efforts.

ICC’s prize pool distribution system ensures that every team will earn at least something from the tournament bounty, regardless of their final standings.

For instance, the two losing semi-finalists will each get USD 800,000 for securing a top four finish. The remaining six sides of the tournament, on the other hand, will be handed out USD 100,000 each from the winner’s purse.

As per ICC’s settings, winner of each group stage match will also be earning USD 40,000 for their efforts on the day. Here is a look at the entire breakdown of World Cup 2023 prize money allocations by ICC:

The 2023 World Cup is set to commence with a match between 2019 finalists England and New Zealand on October 5 at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The venue will also host the blockbuster India vs Pakistan Group Stage game, as well as the grand finale of the tournament on November 19.
