Why Rohit Sharma Is Not Staying With MI Teammates During Home Matches? Check The Reason

In match no.33 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) Punjab Kings (PBKS) will host Mumbai Indians (MI) on April 18, 2024, at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur. This is a special fixture for the former Mumbai Indians captain, Rohit Sharma, as this is the 250th match for him in the cash-rich league. 

Ahead of the IPL 2024 edition Hardik Pandya was appointed the new captain for the franchise. 

Mumbai Indians had a disappointing start to the IPL 2024 edition, losing three consecutive matches, but this streak was broken with two victories at home ground- Wankhede- against Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). 

In a conversation on the podcast "Club Prairie Fire," the Indian stalwart revealed that he is not staying in the hotel with the team during the home matches at Wankhede, instead, he is staying at home and he also explained the reason behind it. 

Rohit Sharma is Spending Time With Family 

Rohit Sharma said that he has an ample amount of time nowadays, so he prefers staying at home with his family and spending quality time with them during the home matches at Wankhede. He also added that he going to the hotel an hour before the team meeting.

He said that it is a happy feeling to spend time with his family and balance his work and family together. 

“I (Rohit) have got a lot of time on my hands these days. I am spending time with my family. I am staying at home actually. The last four matches Mumbai Indians played here (Wankhede). Just going an hour before when we have the team meeting. It’s been good, a little different but good,” Rohit said.


Milestone Match For Rohit Sharma Against Punjab Kings 

The former captain of Mumbai Indians, Rohit Sharma, will play his 250th match of the Indian Premier League and is the second player to reach this milestone after legendary MS Dhoni. 

The dynamic batter has played 249 matches scoring 6472 runs with an average of 30.10 and strike rate of 131.22. He has smashed 42 half-centuries and 2 hundreds, one recently in match no. 29 of the IPL 2024, against Chennai Super Kings.
