After announcing her shock retirement, former West Indies player Deandra Dottin has signed a deal with the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) club Adelaide Strikers. Dottin will feature in the upcoming WBBL edition, which starts on October 13.

Dottin has represented WBBL clubs like the Perth Scorchers and Brisbane Heat, accumulating 424 runs and 17 wickets from 29 games overall.

The Windies player spoke about her new innings with Adelaide.

"I am so excited to get to Adelaide and play in the WBBL again. The Strikers are a brilliant team and I hope I can help them take that extra step and bring home the title. I can't wait to meet all the fans and put on a show for everyone with my new teammates," - Dottin said in a statement.

Dottin's illustrious career

The 31-year-old, who bid adieu to cricket mid-way through the Commonwealth Games 2022 while playing for Barbados, has played 134 One-Day Internationals and 127 T20I matches for West Indies.

She has scored 3,727 and 2,697 runs across both formats, also picking up 72 and 62 wickets in her 14-year career.

Apart from playing in the WBBL, Dottin has been a constant participant in the BCCI-run Women's T20 Challenge competition, representing teams like Supernovas and Trailblazers.

She will be seen in The Hundred Women, playing for Manchester Originals, having played for London Spirit in the inaugural season last year.

Earlier, Strikers roped in South Africa's Laura Wolvaardt for this season.
