During the press conference for the Zimbabwe-Bangladesh T20I series, the visiting captain Sikandar Raza removed Coca-Cola bottles from his sight and encouraged people to drink water instead.

What Sikandar Raza did tonight mirrored Cristiano Ronaldo's actions during Euro 2020 in a pre-match conference.

The Portuguese star replaced cola bottles with water, promoting water consumption over cola. Sikandar Raza replicated the same gesture with the same intention as Ronaldo.

The Zimbabwe cricket team is currently in Bangladesh for a five-match T20I series against the Bangladesh team. Players like Mustafizur Rahman left the IPL to participate in this series.

Before starting the press conference ahead of the series, Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza moved the Coke bottles from the table and replaced them with water bottles.

The motives behind Raza’s actions however are not yet clear. Ronaldo, who is known for promoting healthy living, had previously voiced his disapproval of sugary drinks.

Sikandar Raza could be someone who believes in healthy life style like Ronaldo but there are no confirmed reports of Raza's gesture.

Zimbabwe to miss T20 World Cup

Zimbabwe failed to secure a spot in the T20 World Cup 2024 after suffering defeats to Namibia and Uganda in the Africa Region Qualifier.

The Zimbabwean captain expressed regret over missing the T20 WC. But Zimbabwe will be focused focused on defeating Bangladesh at their soil.

Bangladesh see this series as a preparation series ahead of  T20 World Cup. The series consists of 5 matches, with Bangladesh being led by Najmul Hossain Shanto.
