Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) extended their winning streak in the Indian Premier League (IPL) matches defending 160 or more runs by defeating Gujarat Titans (GT) by 33 runs.

LSG, led by KL Rahul, secured their 13th consecutive victory while defending 160+ totals, maintaining an impeccable record in such scenarios. Celebrating the milestone, LSG shared a video on social media with a humorous twist.

In the video, an LSG fan jokingly suggested KL Rahul as India's next 'Defence Minister,' prompting a surprised reaction from the cricketer, who quipped about his low strike rate. However, the fan clarified the joke was about "LSG's exceptional streak of defending formidable totals in the IPL".

In a hilarious video posted by LSG, a man wearing the team’s jersey comes forward and says, “Congrats Rahul Bhai. I think you should be the next Defence Minister of India.”

KL Rahul is taken aback. “Now you are also going to make fun of my strike rate.”

Despite the victory, concerns loom over KL Rahul's strike rate, particularly evident in his recent innings against GT, where he scored 33 off 31 balls.

With only 126 runs in four IPL 2024 matches at a subpar strike rate of 128.57, Rahul's form has sparked debates regarding his approach in T20 cricket. His strike rate, hovering below 130, has drawn comparisons with Virat Kohli, another prominent figure facing scrutiny for a similar issue.

Critics argue that in a format demanding aggressive batting from the outset, Rahul's conservative approach might pose selection dilemmas for the T20 World Cup.

Despite his decent overall performance since IPL 2023, with 400 runs in 13 matches for LSG, Rahul's strike rate remains a point of contention.
