In the 16th match of the 2023 Caribbean Premier League (CPL) between Barbados Royals and St. Lucia Kings, spin-bowling all-rounder Rahkeem Cornwall of the Royals smoked a humongous six that traveled a remarkable 101 meters and landed on the roof of the Kensington Oval in Barbados on Saturday, September 2.

The Royals, chasing a daunting target of 196 runs, needed a rapid start, and Cornwall provided just that. The right-handed batter smashed a boundary and a six off consecutive deliveries before launching the 101-meter maximum.

This eye-catching hit came off a slower delivery by Kings pacer Matthew Forde. Cornwall expertly picked the slow ball and dispatched the ball onto the stadium roof. This massive six is now considered one of the longest in the history of the CPL, and the CPL official social media handle shared a video of this gigantic six.

In the same over, Cornwall continued his aggressive assault by slamming two more sixes and a boundary, resulting in 20 runs scored off Forde's over. However, Cornwall's explosive display was cut short in the next over, as he was dismissed by Alzarri Joseph for 18 runs from 14 balls, leaving the Royals reeling at 23/2.

Unfortunately, this marked the beginning of a challenging run-chase for Barbados, and they struggled to recover, eventually collapsing for a meager total of 105 runs in 17.3 overs. This handed a resounding 90-run victory to the St. Lucia Kings.

As for Cornwall, the ongoing season of the CPL has been a challenging one so far, with an average of 14.60 with the bat and just one wicket in five games. But despite this, Barbados will continue to back him as he played a pivotal role for the franchise in the last year’s CPL, where he accumulated 242 runs in nine matches, making a significant contribution to the team's first-place finish in the points table and their journey to the final.
