Mahika Gaur's cricketing journey began at a young age, with her international debut for the UAE when she was just 12 years old. However, at the age of 17, on Friday, September 1, she scripted history by earning her first cap for the England cricket team during the opening T20I against Sri Lanka.

This extraordinary feat places her in an elite group, as only the seventh women's cricketer to represent two different countries in international arena.

Mahika's international debut occurred when she was just 12 years old when she represented the UAE in the 2019 Thailand Women's T20 Smash. Her Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) debut took place on January 19, 2019, against Indonesia, following a match on January 12 against Thailand A. She played a total of 19 matches for the UAE, with 16 of those being bowling appearances.

During this period, Mahika picked up an impressive 9 wickets at an economy rate of 5.15. Notably, she also featured for the UAE in the Women's Asia Cup in 2022, where she emerged as the highest wicket-taker for her team, securing 6 wickets from 5 innings at an economy rate of 5.95. Her victims included Sri Lanka's Chamari Athapaththu and India's Sabbhineni Meghana.

Following a successful summer with the North West Thunder in the Charlotte Edwards Cup Finals Day, Mahika earned a spot in the Women’s Hundred for Manchester Originals. In the 2023 Hundred season, she played a total of 6 matches, securing 4 wickets at an economy rate of 7.38.

In her first appearance for England, the left-arm swing bowler showcased her ability to move the new ball. Although she faced some challenges at the start of her spell, including three wides and conceding a four in her third legal delivery, she quickly rebounded. After being hit for a six in the fourth over by Chamari Athapaththu, she made an impressive comeback by dismissing the Sri Lankan skipper just two deliveries later for 15 (10).
