To the delight of cricket fans across the globe, the much-awaited Asia Cup is all set to begin on August 30. The tournament promises to be an absolute cracker, with six top-tier teams set to battle it out for Asian supremacy. Meanwhile, talking about India, the BCCI selection committee named a strong 17-member squad for the marquee event. While the Men in Blue gear up for their opening clash against arch-rivals Pakistan, skipper Rohit Sharma has promised a fan to lead his troops to the title. 

In a video doing rounds on social media, a fan is seen interacting with Sharma in the airport. As the fan says, 'Rohit Sir, Asia Cup ka wait hai (Rohit Sir, we are waiting for the Asia Cup)', Rohit replies, "Jeetenge hum hi (We will win)".

India have had stellar success in the Asia Cup, emerging triumphant on seven out of fifteen editions. However, they had an underwhelming run in the tournament last year, being crashed out of the Super Four stage following crushing defeats to Pakistan and Sri Lanka. 

The Asia Cup 2023 holds significant importance for the Men in Blue with the World Cup being around the corner. So, they will be keen to break their knockout jinx and add a multinational trophy to their illustrious cabinet.
