Shaheen Afridi on the path to recovery, shares his bowling video

The pace sensation from Pakistan is currently undergoing rehabilitation to play in the T20I World Cup starting next month. 

Shaheen Shah Afridi, the poster of boy of the Pakistan's new generation pace battery, has been out of the cricketing action since the last few months. The 22 year old sustained an injury in the first Test match against Sri Lanka earlier this year. The injury further forced the youngster to miss the Asia Cup where Pakistan lost to Sri Lanka in the final. 

Shaheen's absence has affected Pakistan's performance in the recent times. Following the conclusion of the Asia Cup, Pakistan are currently playing hosts to a T20I series against England where the visitors are currently leading the 7 match T20I series by 2-1. Pak fans will be hoping that pacer regains full fitness before the World T20 in Australia from next month onwards.


Shaheen shares a glimpse of his road to recovery

Much to the fans delight, the youngster has given a massive fitness update to fans through Twitter. The 22-year-old took to the social media platform to reveal that he has started bowling ahead of the T20 World Cup, amid his rehabilitation in the United Kingdom. 

The star pacer shared a video of him bowling with a short run-up on Twitter and captioned it as, "Your success belongs to Allah, not your mindset."

According to a PCB statement, which was released during the Asia Cup:

" Whilst in London, Shaheen will remain under the supervision of the PCB Medical Advisory Panel, which also comprises London-based Dr Imtiaz Ahmad and Dr Zafar Iqbal" 

"Since 2016, Dr Imtiaz has been the Head of Medical Services at the Queens Park Rangers Football Club, while Dr Zafar is Head of Sports Medicine at the Crystal Palace Football Club since 2015 (having worked previously with Tottenham Hotspur FC, Liverpool FC and Kent County Cricket Club)."
