On Thursday, August 21, India's star keeper-batter Sanju Samson made his Kerala Cricket League (KCL) debut when his side Kochi Blue Tigers locked horns against Trivandrum Royals in the 2nd match of the league. 

It was a dream game for skipper and Sanju's brother Saly, who scored an unbeaten 50 (30), which featured five fours and three sixes. Meanwhile, Sanju Samson demoted himself to the middle-order and eventually didn't come to bat as KBT chased down an easy target of 99 runs. 

Sanju Samson Suffering From High Fever

Talking about Sanju Samson, in the latest events, it is learnt that the right-handed batter is actually suffering from a viral fever and had left the hospital to feature in KCL and make his debut. Notably, the 30-year-old didn't feature in the inaugural edition.

“Sanju has a fever, and he also has a cough. His health is currently not well, and he has been resting. He was at the hospital on Friday, and now he is at home,” a person very close to Sanju Samson told MyKhel.

Notably, Sanju Samson was admitted to the hospital in Trivandrum because of a fever and a cough. The doctors advised Samson to rest, but the Indian star couldn't disappoint his fans, who had turned up in thousands to watch the grand ceremony. Thus, the right-handed batter left the hospital to play KCL. 

Further, Samson was bought for ₹26.8 lakh at the auction (the most in history) to fetch the Kerala superstar.

Samson's Demotion Sparks Bizarre Asia Cup Move

Since Sanju Samson didn't walk to bat top of the order, the fans had assumed that it was a deliberate move to make Samson bat in the middle-order, hinting at a new position in upcoming Asia Cup 2025.

Notably, Samson faces a tough fight from Shubman Gill at the top, thus it is being assumed that the 30-year-old will bat in the middle-order in Asia Cup, but now it is revealed that the demotion was because of health concerns.
