Rassie Van der Dussen Set To Play PSL 2024 Weeks After Being Ruled Out Of BPL

One of the hottest properties in international cricket, South Africa's Rassie Van der Dussen, starred for his nation in the 2023 World Cup. The explosive top-order batter slammed 448 runs in 10 matches, which saw several T20 offers sprung up.

Interestingly, Dussen signed up with Rangpur Riders for Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024 but failed to honour his commitment after an injury forced the player out of the competition.

However, Dussen, 35, just a week after dropping out of BPL 2024, has landed in Pakistan for the ninth of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024, where he will turn up for defending champions Lahore Qalandars (LQ).

Dussen's move to feature in PSL but not BPL has left several Bangladesh cricket fans baffled, questioning the credibility of his injury.

While it remains to be seen if Dussen will feature in the opening PSL match between Lahore and Islamabad United on February 17, this decision could end up hurting the relationship between Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and Cricket South Africa (CSA).

In 178 T20s, Dussen has amassed 5,008 runs with four centuries and 31 half-centuries. Dussen, who has played PSL for Islamabad in five T20s in the competition, racked up 148 runs with a high score of 49.
