No Rinku Singh, Parag Included! Md. Kaif Picks India's Squad For T20 WC 2024

Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif has picked Rishabh Pant, Riyan Parag and Yashasvi Jaiswal for his Indian squad for the T20 World Cup 2024, starting in June 2024.

Sanju Samson, Rinku Singh, and Shubman Gill are among the possible contenders - who would not find a place in his chosen side.

This year’s men's ICC event is slated to take place in the USA and the West Indies throughout the month of June, immediately following the conclusion of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2024).

With the form and performances of players fluctuating during the ongoing IPL season, there is constant speculation and analysis regarding their inclusion in India’s squad for the T20 World Cup.


No Samson, Parag over Rinku in Kaif's team

In the midst of these speculations, Kaif has opted for Jaiswal and Rohit as the opening pair, with Rishabh Pant fulfilling the role of wicketkeeper-batter, and including three spin bowling options in his preferred playing XI.

“Yashasvi Jaiswal will open alongside Rohit Sharma. Then Virat Kohli at No. 3, Suryakumar Yadav at No. 4, Hardik Pandya at No. 5, and Rishabh Pant at No. 6. I will keep a lot of all-rounders because you need batting depth. So I will say Axar Patel at No. 7 and Ravindra Jadeja at No. 8. After that, Kuldeep Yadav, who is a skillful bowler, at No. 9."


"Then two fast bowlers - Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh. That makes it your XI," Mohammad Kaif said on the Star Sports show 'Follow the Blues'.

Team India's journey in the global T20 event will kick off against Ireland in New York on June 5.

This tournament presents India with another opportunity to secure an ICC trophy, as they have not achieved this feat since their victory in the ICC Champions Trophy back in 2013.
