Sunil Narine continues to remain a vital cog in KKR’s setup this IPL 2024 season. In four KKR matches so far in the tournament, the 35-year-old has tallied 161 runs at an average of over 40 all while snaring four wickets with his right-arm mystery off-spin.

Apparently, Narine seems to be carrying an extra weapon up his sleeve considering he was recently spotted resorting to pace bowling during a KKR nets training session.

On April 13, Sunil Narine was involved in a nets training session alongside the rest of his KKR colleagues at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. At one stage of his training routine, the West Indies-based all-rounder was spotted bowling in the nets to a teammate.

Much to everyone’s surprise, Sunil Narine bowled pace at the nets, thus making way from his usual mystery off-spin. The KKR franchise shared the footage of Narine’s pace bowling on their social media accounts, alongside a caption that reads:

“Presenting you, world’s first mystery 𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗘𝗥 🤝”

Earlier in the IPL 2024 season, Sunil Narine bashed an attacking 39-ball 85 against Delhi Capitals to set up KKR’s record 272-run total. The cricketer also pounded crucial knocks against RCB and CSK respectively.

As of now, the KKR franchise is placed at number two on the 10-team IPL 2024 points table with three wins and a defeat to their credit.

Under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer, KKR will now face the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in match number 28 of the tournament on April 14. The much-awaited contest will be staged at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata, thus marking KKR’s second home game of the IPL 2024 season.
