Five-time IPL champions, Mumbai Indians (MI) last lifted a trophy in 2020 and found themselves struggling since the mega auction event. However, Artificial Intelligence produced a ray of hope and predicted that a sixth-title win under Hardik Pandya’s leadership could be imminent.

Mumbai Indians, struggling to stay competitive since 2020 title victory, enforced reforms with a view to secure the long term future.

In a controversial decision, MI traded Hardik Pandya back from Gujarat Titans and named him the captain of the team, thus replacing five-time title winner Rohit Sharma.

The transition of power wasn’t received well and internal tensions have largely reflected on the team’s performance this IPL 2024 season. MI are currently seated eight on the points table with a single victory in four games.

When will MI attain it's sixth title?

Needless to say, a massive change within leadership does not fetch results immediately, as the team needs time to adjust to the new dynamics.

Having said that, Artificial Intelligence suggests that the next big victory for MI is just around the corner.

When asked to predict IPL winners for next 20 years, AI named Mumbai Indians as ultimate winners of 2026 IPL season. However, for the next title, i.e seventh trophy, MI will likely have to wait until 2035.

It's important to note that while AI-generated forecasts provide intriguing insights and fuel speculation, the ultimate outcome will be determined by the performances and decisions of players and teams on the field.

IPL will undergo another round of mega auctions next year, providing an opportunity for teams like MI to fix squad balance and rebuild from scratch under reformed leadership.
