Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) are all set to take a decision on current head coach Russell Domingo's future on Monday (22 August).

Board President Nazmul Hassan has already indicated that BCB is trying to impose a massive change ahead of the Asia Cup slated to be played next week in UAE.

The national team recently lost the ODI and T20I series against Zimbabwe, which has put pressure on the team management.

Last month, BCB's cricket operations chairman Jalal Yunus also stated that Domingo wasn't aggressive enough as a coach in the shortest format. It is widely speculated that the 47-year-old could be relieved of his T20I duties.

In this regard, Sridharan Sriram was appointed as the technical consultant of Tigers for the tournament in UAE.

"We haven't decided on (Domingo)," Hassan said on Friday. "We will sit together on August 22, and then we will decide. There will be a lot of changes. Not just one or two. Whether we will include Russell Domingo in our changes or not, will be decided on August 22. We will listen to everyone on that day. For now, we want Domingo to concentrate on Tests and ODIs. We are trying to separate everything."

"There's so much cricket that it is hard for Domingo to concentrate on three formats. He can't even go to some of the series, if you look at our contract with him. He has specific breaks. We have to keep these things in mind. It is not that easy."

Under the leadership of Domingo, Bangladesh has been able to secure 19 wins out of 46 T20I games. Furthermore, the national team lost all their five Super-12 matches in the T20 World Cup 2021.

On the other hand, Tigers have tasted success in only three out of the 19 Test matches. They are sitting at the last position in the World Test Championship 2021-23 points table as well.

However, Bangladesh have performed well in the 50-over format with seven out of nine series wins. They are at second position in the World Cup Super League Table.
