Gujarat Titans will host the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in match number 45 of the IPL 2024 season on April 28. The much-awaited fixture will mark the 10th respective outing for both sides in this competition.

As Gujarat Titans and RCB brace themselves for an exciting match-up, here at OneCricket, we take a look at three potential player battles to watch out for.

Virat Kohli vs Rashid Khan

RCB opener and current ‘Orange Cap’ holder Virat Kohli has toppled Gujarat Titans’ trump card Rashid Khan a number of times in his career. Across their numerous T20 faceoffs, Khan has managed to dismiss the legendary Indian batter just twice in IPL matches.

With Khan likely to bowl the powerplay overs once again for the Gujarat Titans franchise, he will once again be expected to cross paths with the in-form RCB opener.

Shubman Gill vs Mohammed Siraj

Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill and his penchant for clattering opposition’s new-ball attack has paid off a number of times for his team. The star opening batter also holds a staggering record with the bat against national teammate and senior RCB fast bowler Mohammed Siraj.

Gill is yet to be dismissed by Siraj in IPL, and has accumulated over 50 runs against the speedster at a strike-rate of 166.67. The dashing opener will once again be aiming to topple the RCB seamer in a bid to provide yet another blistering start to his team at the top of the order.

Dinesh Karthik vs Mohit Sharma

RCB’s perennial ball-striker Dinesh Karthik has scored his runs at a strike-rate of nearly 200 this IPL 2024 season. However, he holds a substandard strike-rate of just above 100 against Gujarat Titans’ death-overs expert Mohit Sharma.

Despite Karthik’s apparent troubles against Mohit, the seasoned fast bowler is yet to grab the wicketkeeper’s wicket in his career, despite having bowled 78 deliveries at him since 2013.

Considering the high-scoring nature of the season, it remains highly likely that the two cricketers will once again be squaring off on April 28, especially during the decisive death overs of the RCB innings.
