Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are set to face Mumbai Indians (MI) in Match 55 of the IPL 2024 on Monday, May 6 at the Wankhede Stadium.

This match marks their second face-off of the season, the first being a high-octane thriller where SRH emerged victorious by 31 runs.

During the first fixture between the two sides, SRH racked up a colossal 277/3 in their 20 overs, only to restrict MI to 246/5. That victory not only marked SRH's first win of the season but also set the stage for a campaign where they've been nothing short of explosive.

Currently fourth in the points table with six wins from ten games, a victory on Monday would inch them closer to securing a playoff berth.

On the other hand, MI has struggled to find their footing since their first loss of the season to SRH. They are languishing at the bottom of the IPL 2024 points table with just three wins in eleven matches.

The Hardik Pandya-led side’s hopes for a playoff spot have all but evaporated, and they'll be playing for pride in the upcoming clash. Here’s a look at SRH’s Probable XI vs MI.

Markram likely to replace Jansen

SRH's opening pair, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, have been in blistering form, consistently tearing apart opposition bowling attacks. They'll be keen to unleash their fury once more on the batter-friendly pitch at the Wankhede.

The previous match saw Aiden Markram benched, with Anmolpreet Singh stepping into the No. 3 spot. However, Singh's failure to score is likely to pave the way for Markram's return.

The middle-order trio of Nitish Reddy, Heinrich Klaasen, and Abdul Samad have been in stellar form and are expected to retain their spots.

Shahbaz Ahmed will continue to bring his versatility to the No. 7 position, while Marco Jansen, who had a forgettable last outing conceding 44 runs without claiming a wicket, might find himself on the sidelines as Markram will take the fourth overseas player’s spot in SRH’s playing XI.

Leading the charge with the ball will be the formidable quartet of captain Pat Cummins, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan, and Jaydev Unadkat, forming a fast-bowling lineup that MI will find challenging to counter.

As the clock ticks down to the MI vs SRH clash, the Men in Orange will be looking to repeat their early-season heroics and edge closer to the playoffs, while the home side will aim to salvage pride and perhaps play the role of spoilers in what has been a challenging season for them.
