'Whenever Amir Has…' - Sarfaraz Ahmed Hails Pacer Ahead Of PSL 2024

Pakistan veteran and Quetta Gladiators captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has back new-recruit Mohammad Amir to come up trumps in the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 season. Sarfaraz cited Amir’s performance in franchise cricket since the last two years and expressed his hope that the former Pakistan paceman will be a “profitable” commodity for the Gladiators franchise.


Sarfaraz Ahmed backs Mohammad Amir for PSL 2024

While speaking with the reporters in Karachi, Sarfaraz Ahmed signified Mohammad Amir’s consistent performance in franchise cricket off late, and backed the former Pakistan paceman to deliver the goods for the Quetta Gladiators in the upcoming PSL 2024 season.

“In the last two years, wherever Amir has played cricket, his team has been performing well. Mohammad Amir and Sohail Khan are experts in both bowling new and old balls. We are hopeful that Amir will prove to be profitable for Quetta Gladiators,” Sarfaraz Ahmed said.

Mohammad Amir was roped in by the Quetta Gladiators franchise last year after he was released by Karachi Kings. The 31-year-old fast bowler recently took field for the Desert Vipers at the ILT20 2024 season in UAE.

Amir holds a legion of T20 experience in his credit, having played in prominent T20 leagues like BPL, The Hundred, ILT20, Abu Dhabi T10, CPL apart from his 50-match international experience. In all, he has played 267 matches across the world and has tallied a staggering haul of 315 wickets.

Apart from receiving the backing of his Quetta Gladiators skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed, Mohammad Amir was also urged by Pakistan T20I captain Shaheen Afridi for a possible comeback to international cricket.

Afridi, who is teammates with Amir for the Desert Viper in ILT20 2024, said that he enjoyed sharing the new-ball with the former cricketer.
