Indian youngster Nitish Kumar Reddy had a memorable outing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in their fifth group-stage fixture of the ongoing Indian Premier League season.

The talented batter struck a belligerent 37-ball 64, studded with four boundaries and five sixes, helping his side post a respectable 182-run total.

Later, he exhibited his bowling prowess, getting the prized scalp of Jitesh Sharma and tilting the game into the visitors' favour.

In the post-match presentation, Nitish, who got the man of the match award, expressed his happiness at contributing to the team's cause.

"For me, it is a big contribution for my team and myself. I have been talking to myself that I have to believe in myself and that I have to be there (for my team)," he said.

He also revealed how his plan of playing out the pacers and purposefully going after the spinners worked wonders for him in this match. The all-rounder also disclosed why he decided to use slow bouncers at the venue.

"The seamers were bowling well, so I did not want to take them on. When the spinners came in, I wanted to attack them and that is what I did," he added.

"The slower bouncer is really working (through the tournament), so I just wanted to use the dimensions. I just want to continue this performance for my team, with the bat, with the ball and in the field. I just want to be like this," Reddy concluded.

With the thrilling two-run win over PBKS, SRH moved to number five in the IPL 2024 standings. They will take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their next match on April 15.
