'We Are Trying...' : Babar Azam Deeply Reflects After Pakistan's Loss To NZ In The 4th T20I

Babar Azam might have returned as captain of the Pakistan cricket team however despite his optimism Pakistan lost to New Zealand in the fourth T20I of the ongoing series. 

The match against New Zealand saw Pakistan facing off against a Kiwi side comprising primarily of lesser-known players, with their key players occupied in the Indian Premier League. Despite expectations of dominance at home, Pakistan finds itself trailing 1-2 in the series, with one match left to play.

Speaking after the match, Babar emphasized the team's commitment to experimenting with new strategies and approaches as they gear up for the T20 World Cup 2024 in June.

Here's what he said:

"We are trying something new and different in every game. Hopefully, we will be settled before going for the T20 World Cup," Babar told as quoted by TOI.

Babar acknowledged the challenges but remained positive about the team's prospects and said, "They started nicely but our bowlers made a good comeback, we stuck to a length. In the first six overs, we lost quite a number of wickets. Fakhar's innings was outstanding, unfortunately, we couldn't chase it down, Imad also played a good innings." 

Despite the setback, Babar commended the efforts of his team, particularly the youngsters, highlighting their resilience and adaptability. 

"It was a different surface, the average score here is 190 and we did well to restrict them and it was a chaseable total. Our youngsters did well," he concluded.

As Pakistan strives to find its winning formula, the two would now clash in the final match of the series on 27 April at 8 PM IST.
