A Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) insider source has revealed that there will be no experimental selections for India's T20 World Cup 2024 squad.

According to the report, all players who have previously represented the Indian team and are performing well in the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be chosen for the team.

This time, there are no unexpected selections expected.

Rumors stay rumors

There has been significant discussion and speculation surrounding India's T20 World Cup squad.

Among the rumors, one suggests Virat Kohli might be omitted from the squad, while another revolves around Hardik Pandya's potential exclusion due to poor form.

There was a rumoured battle for the wicketkeeper slot also, with Rishabh Pant making a return from injury, KL Rahul in contention, and Sanju Samson, who's currently in good form, all vying for the position.

According to a BCCI source, the rumours regarding the omission of players like Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, and the wicketkeeper slot battle among Pant, Rahul, and Samson are unfounded.

All these players will be included in the 20-man initial squad for the World Cup.

"There would not be any experimentation or left field selections. All those who have played for India & have done well consistently in T20 Internationals & IPL will be rewarded in this T20 World Cup 2024," the source close to BCCI told BCCI.

According to this latest report, the final selection will be based on various factors including IPL performance, past national team performances, and several other considerations, but there will be no surprise entries as of now.
