Shubman Gill, who will soon be featuring in his first-ever World Cup at the international level, talked about his first memory of the tournament.

In a campaign 'World Cup Memories' announced by My11Circle, Shubman racked his brain on what was his first memory of cricket's biggest event.

Recalling Yuvraj Singh's famous six sixes in the 2007 T20 World Cup, Shubman informed that it was his first remembrance of the competition.

"This is going to be my first time playing for the Indian senior team in a World Cup. The first memory that comes to my mind is Yuvraj Singh hitting those six sixes," Shubman said in a video posted by My11Circle on X.

"I was about seven-ish when that World Cup happened. That is my first memory of a World Cup, he added.

Interestingly, 19th September 2023, marks the 16th anniversary of Yuvraj's iconic six sixes that came in a Stuart Broad over during the inaugural T20 World Cup.

After getting engaged in a war of words with Andrew Flintoff, aggression flew out of Yuvraj's bat as he cleared the ground six consecutive times in a single over.

He scored the fastest T20I fifty, achieving the feat in a mere 12 deliveries.

As for Shubman, he will open for India in the upcoming ODI World Cup and holds an important part in their chances of winning the trophy.
