'Surya Has His Own Level...,' Mohammad Haris Downplays Comparisons With SKY

Talented Pakistani batsman Mohammad Haris has opened up about his constant comparisons with Indian T20 superstar, Suryakumar Yadav.

The 22-year-old can play 360 degree shots, which has led to his comparison with Surya.

However, Haris believes that it is unfair to compare him with Suryakumar Yadav as the latter is far more experienced, adding that to reach the same level as the Indian cricketer, he needs to put in a lot of hard work.

“We shouldn’t compare the two of us just yet. Surya is 32-33 years old, and I am still a 22-year-old boy. To reach that stage, I still have to put that work in,” Harris told a local YouTube channel.

"Surya has his own level, De Villiers had his own level, and I am my own level well. I want to make a name for myself as a 360-degree cricketer, not use theirs,” he added.

Haris made heads turn with his exquisite strokeplay during the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia, where he handled pace and bounce well even as Babar Azam struggled.

The 22-year-old has thus far featured in 47 T20 matches, in which he has scored 973 runs @ 22.62/148.54 with 4 50+ scores.

He is currently leading the Pakistan- A team in the Emerging Teams' Asia Cup.
