‘Shayad IPL Bhi Na Khele...’ - Gavaskar Raises Doubts About Virat Kohli In IPL 2024

It was unfortunate that Virat Kohli, arguably the poster boy of modern-day cricket throughout the world, missed all four Tests against England due to 'personal reasons'.

While the news around whether he will return to Rohit Sharma & Co. to finish things off in Dharamsala for the final Test is still unknown, many of his fans have certain belief that when the IPL 2024 begins on March 22 with a clash between RCB and CSK, the talismanic batsman will most certainly be in action for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

Sunil Gavaskar, however, doesn't see it that way for sure. While speaking at the Star Sports' Star Nahi Far event, the former India great raised his doubts over his participation in the IPL 2024.

“Kya woh khelenge… kuchh reason ke liye khel nahin rahe hain, shaayad ho sakta hai ke IPL ke liye bhi na khele (Will he play… He is not playing because of some reason, perhaps he may not play in IPL as well," Gavaskar was quoted as saying by livemint.com.

Kohli also recently revealed that he and his wife Anushka Sharma have welcomed a new child into their family, Akaay. While the 35-year-old has not officially commented on the matter yet, it is widely believed that he will miss the final Test match as well due to the birth of his second child.
