Australia's Test captain Pat Cummins has expressed his support for veteran opener David Warner ahead of the highly anticipated Ashes 2023 series, showing confidence in the opener's ability to make a strong comeback. Warner has faced a challenging phase in Test cricket, especially against England's Stuart Broad during the 2019 Ashes series.

During the previous Ashes series, Broad proved to be Warner's nemesis, dismissing him an astonishing seven times and limiting his overall runs to a mere 95 at a disappointing average of 9.5. However, Warner displayed flashes of his potential during the recent World Test Championship final, contributing a valuable 43 runs in the first innings.

In an interview with WA Today, Cummins expressed unwavering confidence in Warner's ability to overcome the challenges posed by Broad in the upcoming Ashes series. Cummins suggested that Warner has spent the past four years meticulously analyzing and refining his strategies to counter the threat presented by the English fast bowler.

"I don’t think there’ll be any surprises. They’re guys we’ve played a lot and Davey’s I’m sure been thinking about Broad a lot over the last four years and if he got another chance, how he is going to play against him," said Pat Cummins while speaking to WA Today.

Cummins concluded by expressing his resolute belief in Warner's resilience, eagerly anticipating witnessing a transformed version of the opener this time around. As the Ashes series approaches, all eyes will be on Warner as he aims to reclaim his form and make a significant impact for the Australian team.
