David Warner bludgeoned a scintillating 57 to headline Australia’s eight-wicket win on Day 4 of the third Test against Pakistan. The innings ensured that the cricketer bowed out of Test cricket in style, thus bringing down curtains on his illustrious 112-match career.

After the match, amidst Warner's outgoing euphoria, the 37-year-old was spotted hugging the mother of his longtime opening partner, Usman Khawaja. Unveiling the special bond between the dynamic Australian openers, the picture soon went viral across all social media platforms.

Usman Khawaja explains his mother’s love for Warner

After the proceedings on Day 4 of the SCG Test, Usman Khawaja revealed his shared emotional bond with David Warner after the latter was spotted hugging his mother. Khawaja said:

“He (David Warner) is hugging my mom, she loves him a lot. Honestly, I just enjoyed batting with him, he attacked the ball, let me play my game. My mum loves him. She calls him Shaitaan. Devil. Satan. My mum loved the fact that he was the devil. And it wasn't her son that she could just push it back to Lorraine and Howard (Warner’s parents).”

Earlier in the day, Australian captain Pat Cummins and leading spinner Nathan Lyon picked up the final three Pakistan wickets on offer to envelop them for just 115 in their second innings. Left with a 130-run target to claim the series 3-0, Australia lost opener Usman Khawaja for a first-over duck to Pakistan's experimental new-ball spinner Sajid Khan.

On the other hand, David Warner clubbed a free-flowing 57 from just 75 balls to list his 37th half-century in Tests. Sajid also trapped outbound Warner at the brink of the finishing line before Marnus Labuschagne hit the winning runs to remain unbeaten on 62 from 73 balls.

With Warner exiting from Tests and ODIs in a month, the cricketer will now be seen gracing the Australian colours again at the upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the United States.
