Kuldeep Yadav has been a revelation in ODIs for India. The 28-year-old has picked up 31 wickets in ODI cricket this year, and has performed consistently in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023.

The spinner ran through Pakistan's batting order in the Super 4 match, picking up a 5-wicket haul, and followed it up with a match-winning 4 for 43 against Sri Lanka.

Post the Sri Lankan clash, Kuldeep had a brief chat with the official broadcaster, and stated that he's worked on his bowling action.  Ashish Kaushik, the physio in NCA, advised him not to put load on his knee, and as a result, Kuldeep tried to change his run up and come straight. He cut down the angle and adjusted his follow through.

Here's what Kuldeep said:

“It has not happened overnight. It took me some time to get it right. Many people had suggested this change and I also never wanted to lose my zip, nip and drift. When I completed my rehab of three months, I realised that I must work on it,” Kuldeep said.

He further added: “Keeping that in mind, I tried to bowl faster. I tried it in a practice match in Kanpur and the batsmen found it difficult to pick. But getting the rhythm back was an issue. I struggled in IPL (2022) but finally got it back after six-seven months.”

Kuldeep will once again be in action on Friday, September 15, when India take on Bangladesh in their final Super 4 match.
